About

Hwangji Jayu Market, first established in 1971, is a traditional market with approximately 170 shops boasting a history and tradition spanning over 50 years. It welcomes consumers with a wide range of products, including high-quality mushrooms (such as Angelica gigas and Cnidium officinale) that are unique local specialties of the Taebaek region grown in the highlands, as well as fresh and delicious fish caught off the nearby East Coast, fruits, miscellaneous goods, clothing, and shoes. Furthermore, situated in the heart of downtown Taebaek, it offers excellent accessibility and is only about a two-minute walk from Hwangji Pond, a famous tourist attraction in Taebaek, establishing itself as a favorite destination for both Taebaek citizens and tourists visiting the city.
