About

Gildong Ecological Park is an ecological space designed to provide habitats for urban life and enhance biodiversity, as well as a place where visitors can understand the ecosystem and feel the importance of environmental conservation through nature experiences. It is home to approximately 2,800 diverse species, including 7 Natural Monuments, 6 endangered wildlife species, and 11 endemic and rare plant species. The park features a Firefly Experience Center where visitors can directly encounter fireflies, an indicator species of the environment, and a Visitor Information Center for operating educational programs.

The park is divided into wetland, forest, grassland, and plaza zones. It features outdoor lecture halls, an outdoor exhibition hall, outdoor observation decks, pergolas, bird observation platforms, natural grasslands, and more. In particular, the bird observation platform was designed with meticulous care. In the wetland zone, visitors can see aquatic plants, insects, and frogs.
